Arlington Rescue Squad Inc.
Passion - Experience - Leadership
Build a better community together.
-
The squad was started in 1959 by a small group of dedicated Arlington citizens using Dean Hanson's hearse as an ambulance.
-
We are staffed by 11 volunteer members, along with three paid employees.
-
We provide 24 hour, 7 day a week advanced life support (ALS) emergency medical services to the towns of Arlington, Sandgate, Sunderland and North Shaftsbury.
-
We are responsible for serving a population of 4,518 citizens across 152 square miles.
-
Each year, our members respond to over 500 emergency 911calls.
-
We also provide mutual aid coverage to the Arlington Fire Department and Rescue Squads in Manchester and other surrounding communities.
-
Our members go through hundreds of hours of training in EMS procedures and technology and undergo regular testing to remain nationally certified as EMTs.
-
We provide first aid training for citizens, conduct blood pressure clinics and have a youth program to introduce students to the EMS system.
-
We are an independent 50l(c)(3) non-profit organization.
-
Our revenue comes solely from insurance reimbursements, town appropriations, and donations from citizens.
